Defense contractor Northrop Grumman has inked a lease at a new office development in Newington.

Claremont Creek Ventures, a new venture firm based in downtown Oakland, said Wednesday that $2 million was invested in PropertyBridge Inc. of Oakland, which provides electronic rent payments and other lease-related transactions over the Internet.

Highwoods Properties on Wednesday said it will add 518,000 square feet onto its portfolio with a two-building project costing $27.5 million.
