Malone to exit Wachovia; payout could top $100M

Wallace Malone, the former chief executive of SouthTrust Corp. who became vice chairman and director at Wachovia Corp. in 2004, will retire from the bank Tuesday, making him eligible for payments that could exceed $100 million.
