State's unsold home inventory index up to 7.5 months
The state's unsold inventory index for existing, single-family detached homes in July was 7.5 months, more than double the 2.9 months for the same period a year ago, according to a report released Thursday by the California Association of Realtors.

New home sales for July are down just under 22 percent nationally compared with the same month a year ago, adding to the national and regional housing slowdown.
