Kathy Kennebrook Discusses Pre-Qualifying Your Tenants the Right Way When You Are a Real Estate Investor

As I have mentioned before our rental leases auto renew each year with a pre-determined rent increase. At the time the lease renews I send the tenant a letter letting them know their lease has auto renewed with an effective date and what the new rent amount is going to be.

Earlier this week I got an email from one of my tenants who got his letter and he said he wanted to let me know he got my letter and was appreciative for the opportunity to live in our home for one more year. Folks when you vet your tenants correctly in the first place by doing background checks, tenant checks and checking with previous landlords and current employers, this is the kind of tenant you end up with.

This tenant has been with us for six years and this is the second house of ours he has lived in. When he got married a year ago and needed more space, we moved him into one of our larger homes. He takes super good care of it for us and we appreciate that.
